Italiansped SpA, a freight forwarder and logistics operator belonging to the SACMI Imola Group, is currently facing a new challenge: an international
project cargo shipment, destined for Entebbe, Uganda.
The first of the two Boeing 747/400 Freighters has already left Bologna airport, carrying cutting-edge machinery for the beverage industry. This is a complex logistics operation: one that will see the second plane depart by the end of September to complete the shipment.
It’s also a significant milestone for Bologna airport, which hasn’t seen aircraft as large as these in more than six years. At present, the airport is playing an increasingly pivotal role in the Region’s economy. Close collaboration with the airport is the result of a solid partnership, one further strengthened by this latest shipment: moreover, the decision to depart from Bologna demonstrates our commitment to making the most of the area’s local infrastructure.
The shipment has proved to be particularly challenging from a logistics perspective, as the outsize cargo was brought together from different locations, in Italy and abroad.
This required meticulous coordination every step of the way, including the packaging phase: thanks to our team’s experience and professionalism, we succeeded in beating the deadline and complying with all safety standards.
We’re equally proud of having reinforced the relationship with the receiving customer, who had already entrusted us, last year, with the shipment of their first production line. Their satisfaction is the best ‘certification’ of our efficiency and reliability we could wish for.
